Headed to Montgomery, AL

Today, I am headed to Montgomery, AL to assist the Red Cross with their disaster recovery operations from hurricane Katrina. Avaya, true to it's heritage from Bell & AT&T, has devoted a significant amount of resources to the Red Cross. Last week, my boss asked if I was available and I indicated I was.

I am going out with a crew of 12 other Avaya associates to Montgomery; 13 others are being dispatched to Baton Rouge, LA at the same time. We will be stationed at the Red Cross forward staging locations at both locations. Our assignment is to get internet access and telephone service installed and operational at some 400+ sites throughout the region.

I expect to be posting to the blog at least once per day. Family, friends and business associates who have my cell phone should feel free to call.
