A pleasant surprise at the DMV this morning

I just got back from the DMV with a pleasant surprise... They've extended my temporary tags for 45 days, but also given me the ultimatum to either get the title or start the bond process. The clerk at the DMV suggested that I try and sue for the title; I'd have to file in small claims court in Chicago. It'd be a pain, but the clerk at the DMV assured me that the cost to bond the title would be more than the cost of filing a small-claims suit and traveling to Chicago.
