Squirrels ... AKA Tree Rats
Anyone who's talked to me in person over the last year has surely heard me recount the endless dealings I've had with squirrels getting into my attic... I dealt with a number of holes in the houses roof line earlier this year -- I had a contractor repair the soffit and fascia which seemed to help for a while.
In early May I heard the familiar sound of a rodent eating away at my house and called the pest control company again to place traps (I'd do it myself except the roof is about 25ft up and I don't have a ladder that's tall enough). They chewed another hole through the fascia board and are back in the attic. We've been trapping for about a month and things have slowed up considerably -- haven't really seen or heard much of them in the last week or so. However, this afternoon I went into my bedroom and discovered one had chewed through the drywall(!!). The hole is temporarily patched with a bit of "hardware cloth"; thankfully it doesn't look like any squirrels came through the hole and there's no sign of any on the inside.
I wonder if this will ever end?
Mitch
